Kid Friendly Food in Fredericksburg
I have two kiddos, and they could not be more differnt in how they eat. My son will eat anything! Sushi, curry, all the veggies; Ezra eats it all! Eliana on the other hand, if she gets to choose, only eats plain cheeseburgers, chicken strips, buttered noodles, and queso. Whether you have a kiddo like Ezra, or one who knows they want the chicken strips no matter where you go to eat, here are our favorite resteraunts with the best kids menus in town! On Main Street and close side streets, there are some amazing places for your hungry little ones!
Texas Sunrise - Open for breakfast and lunch, this is the perfect place for the whole family! From pancakes and french toast to burgers and quesadillas, your little one is bound to find something they love!
Old German Bakery - Open Friday - Tuesday for breakfast and lunch, Old German Bakery boasts an amazing German pancake and crepes on the kids menu! For lunch they have standard kids meal fare including the oft sought after mini corndogs! Fair warning, there is always a wait on the weekends, so get there early, or save this one for a weekday if your little one isn't quite so good at waiting!
*A* Burger Burger - Open 7 days a week, Burger Burger specializes in... burgers! But they have other great things for the kiddos too! They have a fantastic hot dog and a super cheesy grilled cheese! Burger Burger also gets our allergen friendly award! They have gluten free buns that are super tasty, and their fries are batter free. They don't always have a designated fryer, but check with your waiter and they will do their best! They are super knowledgeable about allergies, and will make sure you or your kiddo have safe food!
Auslander - Auslander is closed on Wednesdays, and specializes in tasty German fare! While the kids menu is fairly modest, Hot Dogs, Chicken Tenders, and Mac & Cheese, Auslander is the perfect place to try German food while making sure the kids will clean their plate as well! Whether you sit inside or out, the layout is family friendly!
*A* Clear River- Open 7 days a week, Clear River is a local and visitor favorite! With sandwiches and chips for lunch to yummy baked goods to THIRTY FIVE flavors of ice cream, everyone is sure to find a favorite!! And they are on our allergen friendly list as well! With gluten free bread, snickerdoodles, and macaroons you can be sure your child will be safe! They also have rasberry sorbet for those dairy free kiddos!
Hondos - We love Hondos, and it is our family's go to for family celebrations! They are closed on Monday and Tuesday, but offer live music most other nights! There is outdoor seating perfect for wiggly littles who need to get up and dance! No one ever minds kids on the dance floor, and the overall laid back vibe makes this a hit with every member of the family!
Hitchin Post - Open every day except Wednesday with all the chicken strips, chicken fried steak, mac & cheese, and fries your little one could want! Hitchin Post is one of our favorite family friendly eateries that not only has everything a kiddo could want, but also great steaks, salads, and cocktails for the grown ups!
Sozial Haus- Open 7 days a week, Sozial Haus is a laid back dining experience with both indoor and outdoor seating. Pizza by the slice, sandwiches, and yummy dips and nachos makes this a must stop!
*A* West End Pizza - West End Pizza is open 7 days a week! They have indoor and outdoor seating, with games like connect four and cornhole in the outside area. Pizza is always kid friendly, but their kids menu also boasts some of the yummiest spaghetti around! They also have gluten free penne and pizza crust! While they do not have dairy free cheese, they are always happy to omit cheese from many dishes!
*A* Piccolina - Piccolina is Oh-so-fresh. Oh-so-Fredericksburg. Small batch Italian Ice with Hill Country ingredients. A scoop of Italian Ice is perfect for the littles, and mom can get a prosecco pour over! Win Win for everyone!! Piccolina is a great place to get a dairy free sweet treat as well!
If you are wanting to venture off Main Street for a little while, there are some amazing places just a short drive away!
Mr. Gattis Pizza - Mr. Gattis is a local favorite for sure! With a pizza and salad buffet, cartoons on the TV, and an amazing game room, everything is just perfect for kids! Plan on spending some time here, because we promise, your kids are never going to want to leave!
Pecan Grove - While Pecan Grove does not have a designated kids menu, it is just too good to leave off of our list! With shady outdoor seating with plenty of space to roam, you will fall in love with Pecan Grove for sure!
Campo Azul - We absolutely love Campo Azul for breakfast, lunch, and dinner! With standard Tex Mex items as well as more traditional Mexican foods, you can't go wrong here! And with a freezer full of paletas and some of the best sopapillas ever, make sure you save room for dessert!
*A* Panda Chinese & Sushi - Panda is the yummiest Chinese and Japanese restaraunt and a definite local favorite! And with a few substitutions, the servers can help you get a gluten or soy allergen friendly meal!
*A* HEB and *A* Natural Grocers both have grab and go options for a picnic at one our amazing outdoor spaces!!
