All the Animals

We know how much children love animals, and Fredericksburg is home to many different ways to interact with them!

The Preserve- The Preserve is home to elephants, kangaroos, giraffes, and wallabies! With opportunities to pet the animals, feed them, and learn all about conservation efforts, The Preserve offers fun for all ages!

Longneck Manor - Longneck Manor is the perfect place to view and interact with giraffes. The tour is 75 minutes long and focused on conservation efforts, so it is recommended for kiddos 8 and up, but we know there are always exceptions, so kiddos of all ages are welcome!

Old Tunnel State ParkOld Tunnel is home to up to 3 million Mexican free-tailed bats and 3,000 cave myotis bats from May through October. We open the park in the evening for bat viewing and programs (depending on staff availability) while the bats are here.

  • Check Facebook or Twitter, or call the toll-free line at (866) 978-2287 (recorded message only) for bat emergence information.

Exotic Resort Zoo in Johnson City - With a drive through safari, guided tours, a petting zoo, and even cabins to rent, the short drive to Johnson City is well worth it!
